Part Chimp - Cup
Cup is a rarities and b-sides collection, along with a killer Beatles cover and one brand new single from London based band Part Chimp. If you're not familiar with Part Chimp, Cup probably isn't the best place to hear them for the first time . I would suggest checking out their sophomore LP I Am Come, which I might just upload if i'm feeling ambitious later. Anyway, the only thing that you need to know about Part Chimp is that they are loud as fuck. Most of their songs sound like they were recorded entirely in the red with the band's amps turned up to 11. Part Chimp never sacrafices a good song in favor of ear melting volume though. Buried beneath the sludgey riffs are intelligently written, and flat out catchy songs.
Thank you for your review of the new Part Chimp release on Monitor. We are truly grateful your enthusiasm.
However, we do not appreciate you linking the entire album for download. I am sure many people have different takes on whether you should be able to trade music for free, and here at Monitor we have our own.
It saddens me that you wouldn't even consult with a label first before giving their intellectual property away for free on your blog. Remember, if you bankrupt the labels and the bands, you wouldn't have anything to blog about.
I would appreciate it if you would remove the link to download the entire album...and you might want to do it with the other albums as well. If you truly want to support the artists (like your statement says at the header) you would take this request seriously.
You can, in this links place, put this link to the single from "Cup" called "New Cross:" http://www.monitorrecords.com/MP3/PartChimp-NewCross.mp3
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to continue reading your blog.
