I've always liked Trans Am because they associated themselves with post rock bands, but rarely ever bought into the seriousness and pretension often associated with the genre. Trans Am just wants to have some fun. After 2005's disappointing politically themed album Liberation, I got a bit worried. With the release of Sex Change, I can breathe a sigh of relief. Trans Am is in rare form here drawing from the best elements of their past albums (cheesy synths, over the top guitar parts) and boiling everything down to short three and a half minute bursts of great, eclectic music. No bullshit, no filler.
